In line with the belief that "Lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets," and with the aim of forging a shared future for mankind, the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), in collaboration with relevant ministries, international organizations, and other stakeholders, is set to host the 2024 International Green Low-Carbon Innovation Conference in Huzhou, Zhejiang, on August 15-16, 2024.

Last year, August 15th was designated as National Ecology Day in China. This recognition of the value of natural resources as "invaluable assets" has become a deeply ingrained national sentiment, with green, circular, and low-carbon development now seen as a national priority. China has made remarkable progress in environmental protection in recent decades, marking a transformational shift in its approach to sustainable development. This shift aligns with global efforts to achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

However, the international community still faces significant challenges in green and low-carbon development. Chief among these are the need for rapid technological innovation and the lack of consensus among different stakeholders. To overcome these challenges, it's essential to promote technological advancements, enhance international cooperation, strengthen trust, and raise public awareness. Only through collective action can we ensure a sustainable future for generations to come.

Recognizing the urgency of climate action and the intricate challenges it entails, we are seizing the opportunity presented by the 2024 International Green Low-Carbon Innovation Conference. In collaboration with renowned global organizations, our objective is to engage in meaningful technological discussions and share groundbreaking solutions. This conference aims to establish an open, trustworthy, and collaborative international platform that will not only facilitate valuable exchanges among these global organizations but also prioritize the secure advancement of carbon peak and carbon neutrality initiatives. Through this collective effort, we aim to significantly contribute to global sustainable development and address the pressing climate issues of our time.
